#BetterThan Cocktails Happy Hour

Adulting is about balance. Nourishing ourselves daily off-sets those times we indulge.

Heidi Symonds, The Healthy Godmother teaches strategies on how to live your optimal, nourished life. She teaches food as medicine and feeling good from the inside, out. Heidi is known for her #betterthan recipes that help you make better versions of the things you love.

Join us at Cloudport, Thursday, April 20th for a #betterthan happy hour! From 5:30-7 we will network, mingle, snack, and learn how to mix up Heidi's #betterthan Nourishing Mocktail. This yummy cranberry juice-based mocktail is magical! It supports your kidneys and lymphatic system  and also supports weight loss. It's full of electrolytes, boosts your metabolism, and aids in digestion. It even gives you energy and clears your skin!

All this, with only a few easy to find ingredients.

After you've tasted this mocktail (a great way to start your day), we'll turn it into a #betterthan Cape Cod cocktail, since it's happy hour. (This is 21+ event.)

Can't wait to see you here!

Make a Delicious Dinner at Home

The Adulting School invites you to a cooking class for grown-ups.

Staying in for Valentine's Day? Keeping things low on the budget but high on the...heat? (So many puns in that one.)

Join us for a cooking class where you will learn how to Make a Romantic Dinner at Home. Stay for the perfect wine pairings by one of Portland's favorite sommelier.

The event starts at 5:30 at Cloudport (63 Federal St, Portland, ME)

-mingle, network and sample a small bite provided by Chef Amy Kayne.

-learn to cook a simple, inexpensive meal that looks and tastes fancier than the process entails.
-the meal can be simply changed to fit some dietary needs such as vegetarian and gluten free.
-well-trained chef
-Chef Amy will complete the dish but everyone samples the final product
-Erica Archer, your wine sommelier (fancy name for someone who teaches you about wine), pairs 2 delicious wines to complement the meal. She will provide you with excellent tips for pairing wine and food. A skill you will be thrilled to have learned from such a highly-regarded and fun teacher. Your ticket will include a 1/2 glass of each wine.
-there are limited tickets so that everyone can see, hear, sample adequately while also being able to ask any questions.

(Not feeling very romantic? Cook this meal for yourself! Cook it for your roommate. Or your mom. We hope you'll join us regardless.)

YOUR CHEF

Amy Kayne is a private chef, helping people rethink their family menus, hosting cooking parties in client's homes, and creates special food events. Amy is very fortunate to have been raised around two amazing food cultures, Lebanese and Italian. As a result, she's always had a passion for food and with her business, 2Gether We Cook, is enjoying sharing her passion by teaching others to embrace new food combinations and flavors.

YOUR SOMMELIER

Erica Archer is a true oenophile, having obtained high levels of certification in her field. In 2010, she was awarded the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Three Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits (with merit), became a Sommelier in the American Court of Master Sommeliers, and received her Certified Wine Professional award from the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California. Erica is the principal of Wine Wise, a wine education and events service and is skilled at creating truly creative and memorable wine experiences that take guests beyond a typical tasting with her intimate understanding of what makes each wine unique. And she'll do it with her trademark down to earth style. Her events do sell out quickly.
