Happy Hour ART WALK

Portland is known for its First Friday Art Walk and Adulting Collective is jumping in, field trip-style.

This is a FREE event in conjunction with the gallery showing at Pinecone + Chickadee: Eat More Art 5.

Here's the Adulting Collective Happy Hour Art Walk schedule for June 2nd:

4:30 -- meet at Sur Lie (11 Free St) for happy hour specials on food, wine, and cocktails!

5:00 -- head across the street to Pinecone+Chickadee (6 Free St) Victoria Karol will lead a conversation about how to engage and find substance in visual art. Basically, within 15 minutes you'll learn how to look at art and have a "real person" discussion about it. The art they are showcasing is really rad, too.

Victoria Karol is a culture critic and local artist. Her art will be featured at this Pinecone + Chickadee show.

5:30 -- Stay at P+C and meet the other featured artists, or grab another cocktail at Sur Lie. Then we're on our way to the rest of the art crawl.

6:00 -- Think Tank. Featured artist is Eva Rose Goetz. Think Tank founder, Patrick Roche, will lead discussion as we view her art.

6:30 -- SPACE Gallery. Featured artwork by Alia Ali. Meet the artist and discussion led by artist and gallery director.

Even though this is a FREE event, please register to hold your spot.

The event starts at 5:30 at Cloudport (63 Federal St, Portland, ME)

-Chef Amy will complete the dish but everyone samples the final product
-Erica Archer, your wine sommelier (fancy name for someone who teaches you about wine), pairs 2 delicious wines to complement the meal. She will provide you with excellent tips for pairing wine and food. A skill you will be thrilled to have learned from such a highly-regarded and fun teacher. Your ticket will include a 1/2 glass of each wine.
-there are limited tickets so that everyone can see, hear, sample adequately while also being able to ask any questions.

(Not feeling very romantic? Cook this meal for yourself! Cook it for your roommate. Or your mom. We hope you'll join us regardless.)

YOUR CHEF

Amy Kayne is a private chef, helping people rethink their family menus, hosting cooking parties in client's homes, and creates special food events. Amy is very fortunate to have been raised around two amazing food cultures, Lebanese and Italian. Erica Archer is a true oenophile, having obtained high levels of certification in her field. In 2010, she was awarded the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Three Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits (with merit), became a Sommelier in the American Court of Master Sommeliers, and received her Certified Wine Professional award from the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California. Erica is the principal of Wine Wise, a wine education and events service and is skilled at creating truly creative and memorable wine experiences that take guests beyond a typical tasting with her intimate understanding of what makes each wine unique. And she'll do it with her trademark down to earth style. Her events do sell out quickly.
